Just a few days ago we were in Beyoğlu a district on the European side of İstanbul. It was once known as Pera (Πέρα, meaning "Across" in Greek), and this name remained in common use until the early 20th century and the establishment of the Turkish Republic.

A Greek looking building

A pretty flowerbox

Pomegranate and Orange juice anyone?
An almost hidden sign - N. Papadakis"

Almost hidden by scaffolding, this Greek doorway

Some familiar looking sweets
