  3. How did you like Devo? I saw them six or seven years later (unlike you, I don't have a good diary)! During one song in the concert a nude woman came out on stage and flirted with them and I couldn't tell if it was planned or not. Looked like they were surprised. I was in high school, so it was a bit of an illicit thrill.

    1. I really liked them and went to both shows (got into the second one for free), though I felt no great need to see them again when they toured here recently. It was a real "show", good music and lots of fun - no nude ladies! I would wonder too if it was part of the plan or not.

  4. Did go to see Devo, The Church, Simple Minds in Dec last year both in Brisbane and Sydney. Had a ball at both concerts- two totally different atmospheres- Brisbane was an outdoor gig with a real summer vibe, beach balls included. Gave Jim Kerr an opportunity to touch up on his soccer skills, kicking one into the crowd. Not a follower of Devo, not disappointed and excellent entertainment value. Loved mixing in with Devo devotees- big burly biker dude in Brisbane and a Transvestite in Sydney, caught a few items that the band members of Devo threw into the crowd and passed it onto the Devo devotees, definitely brought a smile to their faces. Kinda funny that a small fluoro bouncy ball with a printed smiley face would bring such a warm feeling of appreciation and a joyful expression from such a tough looking bloke. No nude ladies this time round.

  5. Looks like we were at a lot of the same Gigs 1982, Clash ( I did 6 out of 7 Nights) Teardrops, Models, The Church, Simple Minds etc. Still have a drum stick, given to me by the Simple Minds Drummer.
    Great times.

    1. It's fun to compare, isn't it? The drummer from Simple Minds (Derrick?) was a bit of a charmer!
